About

Dan Paton

Technical / Managing Director

Dan has more than 20 years of experience in the commercial IT sector. Born and raised on the Kapiti Coast, Dan had a keen interest and fascination with computer systems and electronics from an early age. Learning the ins and outs of computer hardware by constantly breaking the family PC (sorry mum!) led him to start building gaming systems as a teenager for friends and family alike.

After 3 years studying software engineering at CIT, his first official computer job involved assisting with the development of locally built digital jukeboxes and high-end audio systems. This practical hands-on experience led to overcoming some rather technical real-world challenges which required out-of-the-box critical thinking.

Finding enjoyment in overcoming the challenges of IT, and a passion for helping others with their technology has led Dan to a well-established career in the IT service industry. Dan has helped all sorts of people and businesses with their IT requirements, from modest home computer setups to enterprise-level solutions for corporate networks, and enthusiast high-end computer builds for rendering, simulation and VR setups.

Dan’s passion is computing hardware, building custom systems, repairing devices and showing people how to get the best out of their technology. With his experience now spanning more than two decades, Dan has the bases covered when it comes to technical diligence and meeting all client expectations.

Away from all his screens, Dan enjoys getting outdoors for long walks with the dogs, enjoys working out, working with his hands to build stuff and being creative. Having recently completed his Tiny Home build which is the official workshop of Easy As IT, you’ll very rarely find Dan sitting still.
